We just bought an new fax machine and one of the features is "Open LCR". (Low Cost Routing... or something like that)

Anyone using it?

It almost sounds too good to be true. Once per month the fax machine dials into an Open LCR server and downloads all the long distance rates of all the carriers into a Chip inside the fax machine. When you make a phone call from that instrument, the chip calculates the least expensive long distance carrier based upon time of day and area code and places the fax or phone call via the least expensive carrier. It is also allegedly independent of your chosen long distance provider.
