Our church is dong a business directory for all business owners who are church members, of which there are about 1000 families. (That is about 1/2 the size of the town we are in) They actually even encourage members to do business with their parishoners. Cool! Wish there were more of these around. Don't know how it will work, but it sure won't hurt!

Belonging to ANY organization albeit a church, the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club or the P.T.A. is always a chance to network you business.

I think any avenue we can use for advertising, especially free advertising, is an opportunity for the taking. It doesn't matter what group it is, we want their business, whether they are a church, a doctor's office, the Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA, a radio station, the Boy Scouts, The Court House bulletin board. It all adds up to sales.
Go for it.

Remember playing handball in grammar school?
I do.
Front cuts, back cuts, and do overs.
So, of we can kick sand like on the schoolyard, sometimes there are also do overs.
On this one, we get a fresh start.

Thats a very nice collection of random words Marc.
To a Kiwi they mean absolutely nothing, would you mind expanding?

It is called moderation.

I think, Lance, that means Marc removed a couple of posts on this thread.
If he's a moderator, he can do that. Whether he should is another question. In this case, an early & flaming response changed the direction completely, so it was probably justified.
And here I've changed its direction again...sorry.
Carladea, if your $5 ad brings just one order, you've made back your investment several times over. Good move.
Other limited-exposure ads work, too. Neighborhood directories often are excellent. The Homeowners' Associations are interested in publishing a small directory just for the neighbors, and are usually happy have just enough advertisers to cover the costs. It's a good way to target your advertising to specific neighborhoods at minimal cost.

Please lets not make this a flame. I recovered this because of a request. I left it in it's original state. There is another thread named Disappearing Post, please use that to discuss those issues. I will monitor yhis thread and remove any messages that are not related to the original thread.
Thanks

Our Symphony puts ads in their programs. This advertising reaches a lot of affluent people.
We also have coupons on the back of our grocery store's register tapes. We get a lot of responses from this.
Our shopping center lets us use their Marquee (sp) free of charge. We will use it next week.
