Man comes into the store today. Browses for awhile. Pat, Mrs. Boss, is working at the counter. Conversation goes something like this.

Man: As he starts through the curtains to the backroom. "Can I see your back room?"

Pat: Being very cordial like she always is, "Do you have a frame shop?"

Man: "Uhuh."

Pat: "Is it in Fort Worth?"

Man: raising his voice a little. "IT'S IN MY HOME!"

Pat: "If I could just give you a little friendly advice. It woud be better and get you farther if you would be up front when you come in"

Man: "Have you got somethng to hide?"

Pat: Stammering in disbelief: "No! We just don't allow customers back there."

Man: "You must have something to hide, you are sure being defensive." He turns and quickly walks out the door.

It's a good thing he left, that little red haired girl (Pat) was about to blow her top.

I was sitting just on the other side of the curtain and he was determined to just walk right on back. What a rude jerk. I've never had a framer do that, ever. I've never known any framer to deny another framer to see the backroom, but then I've NEVER had a rude framer come into the shop.

"...I've NEVER had a rude framer come into the shop..."

Ah, rude is everywhere, even in our wonderful profession. I bet any sales rep could tell us much worse with very little effort. Do rude people find that they get more? One would think a non-productive behavior would tend to be eliminated. Or as my Grammy used to say, "You can catch more flies with honey than with vingar." Or as a friend was wont to say "There is nobody crazier than people."

Rude people do get something out of it. They get to feel superior, and sometimes people give them what they want just to get them to shut up or go away.

Heck of a way to get ahead, though. I imagine them all suffering from backed up bile.

Jo: I only wish you had humored him just long enough to get his name .I think people like that should be known by EVERY one so EVERYONE can treat them as they desrve,by the golden rule.

Look on the bright side. There isn't going to be any competition for you. Someone as rude as that ain't gonna stay in business long.
