Hi everybody, I'm new to the grumble, stumbled upon it 2 weeks ago and decided to join. I've seen nothing but great ideas exchanged.
Admittedly, I'm a relative newbie to custom framing. Having spent the last 20 years at a high-end furniture manufacturer in glorious middle-management, I felt it was time for a change and go out on my own. Actually spent about 2 years planning the switch before leaving. I was introduced to framing through my wife's friend who has a shop about 20 miles from here. Loved it from the beginning, went to the N.Y. Decor show, bought some equipment, enrolled in classes, bought books, videos, DECOR & PFM mags and set about practicing the craft for about a year and a half (framing for myself and relatives) before opening my small shop. I read books and study videos to continue the learning process. I hope to participate here as much as I can and am admittedly humbled at times by the expertise that exists here, and hope to be accepted into this group.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks ArtLady, I'm not often acused of doing something right, so I'll take it when I can get it.
Sue, my eyes are still bloodshot from reviewing the archives, I'm up to (or down to) the posts from last year. VERY informative!

Wow, I wish I had joined The Grumble with the class you just demonstrated.
Welcome to the club, I'm sure I speak for just about all of us active members, we will help you whenever we can.
Since your doing all that book learning, perhaps you'll help some of us from time to time.

Sure. That would make three of us, if you count Curly.
Welcome, Mike. Enjoy the season. By this time next year you'll be too busy to blow your nose.

Mike,
You may as well give up on doing anything else, clearly you are hooked. It's a great addiction, though. Welcome to TG and framing.
