Nice of you to post that, Kit, but it brings up that old, nagging question: Why couldn't someone from TruVue post it?

Thank you Kit.

Thanks Kit. How did you find out? I agree with Ron. What would we do without The Grumble?
(I just noticed what you wrote for "Erosion.") :D

How many of you that have seen Kit's list have pulled those samples from your display rack (assuming you carry any TruVue mats?)
I pulled 'em a short while ago. It took about 20 minutes and I'm happy to say I only stocked 2 of them. The rest were already in my "limbo rack," which means they are c/p boards that are still available, but I'm not going to stock them or even show them to anyone unless they ask for it by name or need to match another job.
These are all specialty boards: Mission Mica, Washed Denim, Faux leather, Shagreen and Woodlands. Not ALL the boards from these groups are gone, but I'd be surprised if anyone says they can't live without the ones that are discontinued.

I'm going to miss the Shagreen mats but I'm not surprizzzed that they're being discontinued. I think I'm the only framer who liked them.
I got the list in an email from my Larson rep. Thanks, Paul.

I am going to miss Black Gold the most! I love it for multiple opening mats (bottom mat with white top mat) for wedding photos that I do quite often.
I'm calling my supplier asap to see what they have still hanging around.

Frame Lady, Black Gold is one of the two that I actually stock. I have two sheets and I expect that will tide me over for a while.
Take a look at Bainbridge 7532 Black Leather (oops, not C/P) or Crescent HZ34100 (oh, oh - also not C/P, plus it's discontinued as well) or Crescent 4444 Black Gold Marble (hey, it's available, but not C/P. :( )
Never mind . . .

Okay, how's this?
Take a good-quality board - maybe black - and sponge on some soft gold, quick-dry acrylics. You wouldn't have to sponge the whole board, just around the general area of the window. (If it's a bottom mat.)
You should be able to charge more than for a double-mat and it goes on really fast. Use a cut-up sponge or a crumpled paper towel and experiment a little.
You may decide you only really need to stock two colors of matboard: black and white.
