Displaying a folded flag

I'm framing a commemorative display using a folded U.S. flag. Does anyone know if there is a correct position for the flag? Should the long side be up, down, diagonal on the left or diagonal on the right? All of the above or only one of the above?

The long side should be on the bottom, and the flag should be postioned above all other elements in the frame. Nothing should be placed on top of the flag.
