Hoping someone has time for a little design “protocol” assistance. Customer just received father’s military medals from National Personnel Records Center and wants shadowbox, you guessed it, in time for Christmas. Would appreciate advice if anyone knows off-hand how the ribbons should be displayed. (I know there are poster & printed resources available, but doubt I have time to obtain those & complete the project before Christmas.)

Planning suede mats & shadowbox moulding to display the following items:
4x6 B/W photo
dogtag w/o chain
(2) Sleeve patches (3 stripes)
Bronze Star Medal
Good Conduct Medal
American Defense Service Medal
Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal
WWII Victory Medal
Combat Infantryman Badge, 1st award
Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII
Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar

All of the Medals are “standard size” (~ 1 ˝” x 3”) and also have the small ribbon bar; Should both the Medal & the “bar” be included, or do you just use one or the other?

Advice & suggestions welcomed & appreciated!

Do a search under Military Medals here at the G and there is a website that gives you all the information you need.

1. Bronze Star
2. Good conduct metal
3. American Defence Service
4. Asiatic-Pacific Capaign
5. WW II Victory

The combat Infantry badge is usually above the ribbons on a separate line.

The other items are framers choice as to position.

Try this page:
Military Medals (http://www.homeofheroes.com/hallofheroes/1st_floor/pyramid/2h.html)
Scroll down below the word "Graphics". To the left side of the page is a line of medals for the different branches. Pick the medal of the brance you want. Hope it helps.
