We've never done much cutting of frames; its been mostly chops. We're stocking some moulding now so it's time to get a measuring system. What works best on a power mitre saw? Thanks.

I have been using the Phaedra system for the past 12 years and can't complain about it. The saws are much noisier than a dedicated double miter saw but the whole setup was much much cheaper than a big double saw.

I would consider setting up 2 saws though and setting each one to the opposite 45 degree miter. That way you don't have to move the saw to cut both miters. It saves a bunch of time and, once you get your saws set to cut right dead on 45 degrees and a perfect 90 degree vertical, you never have to change them and fool around with resetting the angle.

Good luck.

Naturephotographer, I have a Phadera fence system that I am just getting ready to sell. I've only had it 3 months. A very nice framer here in town upgraded his saw and then offered me to buy his. I only have the fence system including the clamps and one unused grid. You would still need the saws. Framerguy is right both saws make a big difference. The system is great, I had problems but it was totally was with the saws. I called American Engineering and asked him what a fair price was for the system. He said brand new it would be $490 so he suggested $375, since it is hardly used. Framerguy could probably give you specifics on what type of saws to get. Like I said I barely used it.

Let me know if you are interested, this could be kismet because I was just thinking of putting it in one of my distributors want ads, or the want ads on the Grumble for that matter.
