I just received a box of Bainbridge samples. This has some new Alpharags, Alphamats, patterned Alphamats and some new suedes.

Some of the numbers are 8685, 928158 and 4206.

When I opened the box, I was astounded to find 2-3/4" samples.

I realize not everyone has switched over to 4" samples, and some never will. But when I called my distributor, they said that all the samples they got were 2-3/4". It's a lot easier to turn 4" samples into 2-3/4" than to do the opposite.

There's some good stuff in this collection, but it will never see the light of day on my design counter. I have switched over completely.

My question for you, before I call Bainbridge and ask them what they were thinking of, is this: Did any of you receive 4" samples of these new Bainbridge mats?

As I said in another thread, I am <strike>anal</strike> passionate about organizing mat samples.

Never mind.

I called my Bainbridge contact. She told me they are available both ways and they would send me the 4" samples.

Anybody need a 2-3/4" set of these?

I got mine last night and have only minutes ago found the same problem! I doubt we'll be able to get 4" samples here in any great hurry so I'll try them in the glass stretcher and see if that works. Otherwise they're not going far from the back room...

Lance, I could send you MY 2-3/4" samples, you could attach them to yours and be the first one in town with 5-1/2" (139.7mm!!) mat samples.

Think about it and let me know.

I almost never sell Crescent linens any more because, for some reason I can't fathom, they don't make the linen samples in 4".

I have 'em somewhere, but you have to beg.

i tend to like the 2 3/4 samples. if we can nto get them from our rep i will take them off your hands. Are they all fabric mats? We do not use them, we hand wrap all ours.

Haven't rec'd ANY size yet from them. Hope they don't send me the 4' ones they sent JPete, or I'll have to figure out another way to display them. Might even have to move again!

Once you've purchased the full 4" sample set from Bainbridge, they are supposed to put you on The List to send you 4" updates.

I got the new samples from Vicki Schober and all they had was 2-3/4". Bainbridge promised to send the 4" once I pointed out the error of their ways.

oops,if they are in board feet you'll save 4". I suppose I could send my old 3" worn down bevels.

When you purchase BB 4" samples, you get a return postcard that you have to mark as a 4" customer and send in to be on the 4" list.

Ah -ha!

I'm sure that postcard is around here somewhere. It's with the postcard to renew my subscription to Art Business News and the warranty registration cards for every tool and appliance I've ever purchased.

I think/hope I was at least polite to the lady I talked to from Bainbridge.
