Any thoughts on framing a canvas (bedsheet)from south american rainforest that is terribly warped? this work was painted onto the stretcher on the underside. I donot see removing it as an option and was wondering if anyone had experience with using steam or something... thanks for your help.

I have a canvas question too. Have a large 30 year old canvas from Pakistan to stretch. Customer rolled it and the paint cracked badly. (He did the unrolling thank goodness) Any suggestions?

Hate to be a grinch but the cracked canvas sounds like a law suit to me. Once you've touched it, all of those cracks soon become your fault.

Hi Sumik,
Get thee to a conservator or send thy customer to a canvas conservator. When I have a customer bring in something like that and gloss over its value I always have this feeling that possibly I am being set up. Be careful.
