Howdy,

Does anyone out there have a good source for web clamps, aka strap clamps? I've used them before and love them for tweaking that stubborn frame. The ones I used before used nylon webbing and corners, and was tightened with a nice hand screw on one corner. I neglected to get the manuf. name and now I can't find quite the ones I want. As always, any help will receive my eternal gratitude.

(And I looked at the clamps made by Seth's for employer, but they're a little bulky and pricey for what I need.)

Have you tried United? (Or your local Hardware store?)

I believe I have seen these at Home Depot. (Assuming there is one in your area).

I use a Mastercraft Band Clamp and have been pleased with it. I paid maybe $30-40 for it. I think I did get it at Home Depot. There are probably at least 20 of those in Houston.

Will that eternal gratitude be in the form of a check or a money order?

Well, I ended up answering my own question. I was looking for very specific model, the Wolfcraft web clamp. I like it because it uses a sturdy nylon band, it has nylon corners that won't scratch a frame like metal ones would and it tightens by hand, rather than with a wrench that always gets lost.

I had looked for it at Home Depot and local hardware stores, with no luck. United didn't have quite what I was looking for. I'm so picky.

Ron, get in touch and we'll work out a payment schedule for the eternal gratitude.

My workshop is full of Bessey clamps, including the strap clamps. Awesome hard wearing brand that holds well.

I'm at home now so I don't have their phone number, but I get mine from Woodworkers Supply in Arizona. Your right, they are a great clamp. I can't imagine running a frame shop without a few pairs around.

Dave,

That looks exactly like the Mastercraft clamp I have. Must be sold under different brand names. I probably got it at Menard's, which is a regional home center. If you can't find one, let me know and I'll check around here. I go to Menard's 2-3 times each week (between visits to OfficeMax, Office Depot and Staples.)
