Help, PLEASE. I have a customer looking for a shadow box frame (a lot of them, actually) that is at least 2.25" deep, about 1/2" on the face, a natural wood, and plain and simple. Everthing I have is either too shallow or too fancy. Can anyone help with suggestions? Thought I'd ask the experts here before seaching on my own.

Thank You! graemlins/shrug.gif

Hi Carladea,

These aren't super generic plain but there isn't any compo or other "window dressing" on these 2 styles of moulding and both have extenders available. Both start out at about 2 1/4".

AGF #630 (Honey ash color) solid ash roundover top, slight offset about half way down the outside of the moulding.

Gemini #G-694 Kind of a medium honey maple finish, same type of roundover top and a reverse scoop dropping into a straight side on the profile.

I don't know if these companies have websites but you could call them for samples:

Gemini - 800-323-3575
AGF - 800-332-2467

Good luck.

You might try Xylo. Lots of profiles, unfinished or stain finished. Oak, ash, poplar, walnut, etc... 800-627-5040

I thought Studio used to have some profiles like that. However, they seem to be much faster on the droplisting than previously, so maybe not. They helped me with something similarly shaped before.

If you're after lots of it then why not design one and have a manfacturer process it?

Does it have to be wood?

Designer Mouldings makes quite a nice deep shadowbox moulding. It's available in black, silver and gold - very clean lined.

We have a 3/4" face by 2-1/4" deep natural wood moulding available. It is a square cap and availble in Ash, Cherry, Mahogany, Maple, Oak and Walnut. It comes raw or finished.

We can also make a custom variation with a 1/2" face if you must have it that narrow.
