Well, I must thank those that encouraged me to start my shop 2 years ago, 2nd anniversary today. Sometime baggage you collect in your mind weighs you down. Over the years I had seen the good the bad and the ugly in picture framing. I was so disgusted with my options a few years ago, I almost got out of this biz. I knew I could do it with one foot in the poor house. I just needed a push. You Grumblers gave me that push.

Here's some photo's of the new look. Added a leather sofa because I've been getting waiting lines from time to time. Almost like a barbershop of old. I quit selling art as of the 1st of the year. Took all the prints to my basement to rot and write off. Never sold enough and it wasted too much time in the shop. I do 99% custom framing.

This is the other side of the shop. Most of the art on the wall are samples and not for sale. There is a secret door in the wall to the back shop. The front is 12 x 20 feet. The shop in back is 25 x 20.

Well I'm proud of the ceiling so here's another look at it.

Wow, two years already. Love the sofa idea, we have one too it is considered a sales tool now.
Looking nicw and bright and fresh, well done framer you deserve success.
I remember being very unsure about the ceiling idea but you have pulled it off very well with great results. What sort of comments do customers make when they see it?

Curious - what does the sign above the mat display say?

How do you like the wall mounted mat display - it always seemed to me these would be a real headache putting the mat corners back after a sales session.

framer,

Your photos are inspiring. But, where is the secret door? Do you ever scare the bejeesis out of anyone when you walk into the room from the back?

Definitely cool.

I think you need to talk to your landlord about having those walls squared up. They're even more crooked than the ones in my 100 some year old house!
