i have a customer that wants to frame a peice of raw silk. the problem is..it has mold on it. any suggestions as to how to get the mold off of there??

I suppose it can't be washed.
Do you know of any textile conservators the customer or you could contact? Maybe the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in NYC has a help-line. They have a textile conservation dept. It's part of the Smithsonian. http://www.si.edu/ndm/
There might be a museum closer by that could give you some info.

Thank yo so much for the links. i read through the textile link..and came to realize that the customer might want to take care of this mold problem, herself. I'm not sure i want to get into all the specifics of what was described. Thanks again for your info.
