Hi! I know there is advise out there somewhere... I need to know an average wholesale cost of mirrors, 26 x 39. beveled & non-bev. The main glass & mirror supplier in my area has gone out of biz, the whole framing trade used them. I have received a few estimates, but they have such a wide range of price, I want to know what is acceptable in your area. One estimate was $20, another was $40. Of course, $20 is better, but I need to know how far I should search before I find the most appropriate wholesale pricing. I find that mirror framing can be quite profitable. Thanks for the help. Suz.

From my supplier it breaks down like this:
26x39 3/16" mirror $21.50
26x39 1/4" mirror $24.65
130" 1" bevel $14.30
130" 1.5" bevel $32.50
Add them up anyway you like. A $100 order gets free delivery so order some glass with it. Most of my mirrors come in pretty much flawless. If they aren't my supplier takes them back with no complaint. Different suppliers have different qualities too so watch out. I have seen some bevels with "ripples" and have been told that's normal when in fact it isn't.

Just bought a 24 x 36 flat mirror at HOME DEPOT yesterday for $19.43!! They offer many sizes. I think it was Jim Miller who originally suggested this a couple of months ago. Thanks! Also bought a 16-pack of 12 x 12 mirror tiles for about $20... great for making small jobs out of scrap.

Check with your local hardware store. Ours sells mirrors (non-beveled) for $2.00 per square foot. A 26 X 39 would cost $14.08. Non standard bevels come from a glass company in the nearest city (for a small fortune). We get the standard sized for beveled mirrors thru Larson Juhl.

I have a local supplier for glass and mirror. They supply both the frame industry, and the remodling industrys. The have things for bathroom doors etc...

(Maryland Glass and Mirror.)

You might look for companys like this. They offer mirror in different thicknesses and quality. So you can provide both decorative mirrors and functional mirrors. (Yes, there is a difference.)

Suzy,

I am fortunate to have a local guy who does shower enclosures and bathroom mirrors (the gigantic kind that go over double sinks). He always makes his scrap glass available to me and is happy to get rid of it as the small scraps serve him no purpose. I have always offered to pay, but he refuses. If I need beveled mirror, he cuts that and delivers it to me for $2.50/sq.ft. I've begged him to bring me some things to frame for him (so I can give him something in return) but so far he just seems thrilled to help me out and clear mirror scrap out of his storage bins. Am I lucky or what?

How cheap do you want it to look??
