View Full Version : marks on wall from backing tape

Someone told me of a painting on the wall for about 2 years which caused a mark in the paint in the exact shape of the tape used for sealing. Any comments?

That's a good one. If it's doing that to the wall what's it doing to the inside of the framing? I've never been a fan of using tape to seal the back of a frame. If we can figure out why it caused that mark then I'll have a good reason not to like it, other than it just looks ugly.

What kind of tape was used?

It was kikusui paperback tape.

So, let me get this straight--the tape left a mark on the WALL the painting was hung on, or a mark in the PAINTING? LOL

I'm confused. Either way, it's freaky....but if it was a painting, why was the back sealed to begin with?

Again, I'm confused. *grin*
