Nona, I met you at a Don Mar Seminar last year. Your class was A++. You do know this business well, and I was soo inspired after I saw you, that my business has changed dramatically! I love having interaction with the"pros" in the business, but in particular how you reminded me of what a designer I am!
I was a dropout from a great art program in high school, due to many circumstances. This field has allowed me to reclaim my artist, and designer, interior decorator and ....
You drove it home to me that I am a designer, and artist, and...
Thank you. I have not forgotten meeting you.
( I did not realize this was creating a new thread!)

I met Nona in vegas last month, and loved her enthusiasm. I am at this moment reading several of her books cover to cover. Being new in the "biz", seeing first hand the enthusiasm for the business is just motivating!
I also have to say that I am overwhelmed by the way that fellow framers are so eager to help newcomers. It is very inspiring!

I was just checking topics this morning and found this thread. It really warms my heart. All of us who teach in this industry do it because we love teaching, certainly not to make a living, because we don't. BUT, I've said a million times, framers are the nicest people. These posts prove it. I work hard at what I do, I care very much, and it's so nice to know it's well recieved and I've made a difference. Thank you.

Nona
My sister ( a new framer ) recently took a class from you at Colorado Moulding.
She was very impressed with your class. She says she is a more confident framer now.
It kind of took the pressure off of me since I was unable to go there and teach her the framing basics.
I know she is off to a good start now with your expert help.
I told her the next class to take is your advanced class or your "color theory" class.

My company also had the good fortune of meeting Nona here in Seattle a short while back. I know she brought a lot of life back some tired framers here in the northwest. It is so great to meet someone with such passion for their work. I'm just glad some of it rubbed off. Every once in a while I seem to get into a framing glut and just about then....something (someone) gives me a little push and once again I get excited and reminded why I do what I do. Thanks Nona!

* it is always nice too when you refresh your moulding selection.

I sat in on Nona's class last year at the fiasco of a trade show in Kentucky. She was fun, and I learned a lot of things, especially that my ex-boss was an even bigger a s s than I had thought. (Nona may know what I'm talking about ;) . If you have the opportunity to take a Nona Powers seminar, I'd strongly recommend it to any framer of any skill or experience level...it's time well invested!

Excuse me Boggy but....

What do you mean "fiasco of a Trade Show"?

Inquiring minds want to know!

How about more vendors than attendees, for a start? Then there was our doing maybe $1500 worth of business with products selling from $289-$389?, Most of the time, we vendors spent time talking to each other. The brightest spots were seeing our Goddess again, the wonderful riverboat cruise our hosts provided, and the dinner at the converted brothel(!). The low point was the gawdawful flight.
