I think that TruVue's AR Reflection Free glass is beautiful. Is Perfect Vue half as pretty? My customer has been using AR-RF(woof) but is flinching a bit on the price. I haven't seen the Perfect Vue, so I've turned to those who I am sure have. If someone could point me to a thread I'm sure has already happened in this forum that would be swell. Thanks!

The only comment I can make about the PerfectVue vs. AR is that, although neither glass is UV protectant, the PerfectVue filters out fewer UV rays than the AR does. I don't have the info in front of me, but I remember there being quite a difference.

I have a True Vue specifier of the premium glass types which I use all the time. A small piece of glass comes in a black chipboard holder so you can show people the difference.

The Museum Glass is without a doubt always very impressive. To me, the perfect view fits in just like it's price -- it is 1/2 way between Museum and what used to be called non glare.

I also believe it comes in a conservation and non-UV variety. Pam could be right on the amount of UV protection----I recall reading about one touted product that was much less protection than Conservation Clear. I'd say check Tru Vue's site -- but I don't know if they have updated their site as not too too long ago it didn't have any data about Perfect View on it. Your LJ catalog lists the basic specs with each type they sell.

we use conservation perfect vue for all our nonglare needs.

It's priced higher than uv nonglare, less than AR or Museum and, unlike uv nonglare, we can load four mats, two or three mats and a fillet and not get distortion

PLUS its whiter than uv nonglare. We made a little sample using a very white poster then framed with four mats and uv nonglare on one half and the conservation perfect vue on the other half. even a novice can see the difference.

And, as I said, it has the uv protectant power of conservation and is priced less than ar or museum

Is Perfect Vue as "invisible" as the AR?

Invisibility is subjective.

I'm staring at my model we made as I type this and straight on, answer is "yes" plus you don't have that bluish/violet tinging that's in AR

BUT, go 30 or so degrees to the side of the piece, viewed on an angle that is, and it gets hazy which I believe AR doesn't do

BUT again--Cons. perfect vue has 97 UV blocking capacity vs. 78 for AR ;)

Tradeoffs tradeoffs.

I just went and checked on the UV blockage on AR and PerfectVue. 69% on PerfectVue, 78% on AR. 78% is pretty high for a non-UV protectant glass, in my opinion. If I were to sell either of these, I would go with AR.

Thanks everyone! I have a better idea now of what they each have to offer!
