Does anyone have a suggestion for glass storage? Would like to get it organized by size and type. There should be an easier way of going thru it looking for what you need. I suppose upright bins with separations for the sizes and types and maybe use sheets of cardboard between the lites? Is there anything any better than this?

When we movet into a new building 3 years ago I designed a storage rack out of 3/4" plywood with dividers to hold the shipping boxes on edge. Each section has a 1/2" plywood particion (sp) set in a channel to hold it in place. THERE IS A LOT OF WEIGHT WITH GLASS. I have spaced each section for at least 5 boxes (one of each basic glass type at that time plus a box for cutoffs).
The entire rack was screwed together rather than nails for strength.
SIZE: 8' wide, 4' high, 42" deep -- 36x48 and larger rests next to the rack. on top of the rach I have several blueprint drawers for storage of work in process etc.

Jerome, sorry I haven't had time to come to the Board in a while, but I found your reply to my question about glass storage and want to say that it is greatly appreciated. Sounds like a good storage solution. Needless to say, we haven't gotten around to building anything for storage yet, but will use your suggestions. Where does the time go?
