Best investment : Cassese underpinner CS88 (got it for $700 from a craft store frame shop that folded in my area) ((BY FAR the best investment)) For the time and effort it saves I'd pay $5000 for one now. When we started out we thumbnailed everything--works fine if you got time to kill but when your volume increases it's way too s..l..o..w..

Worst: I agree with Artist, you can never have enough equipment. The more tools you have in your shop the better equipped you'll be to tackle most any frame job. Though I don't use it very often, that thumbnailer still comes in handy for profiles that just don't JIVE with the underpinner.

After there has been two replies with the disc sander being the worst, I hesitate to say that although it was expensive it has made every corner beautiful and was worth the money. It was one of our best purchases. There are a couple of different ones we bought the ITW manual disc sander. Since we order mostly chop we find we can clean up any corner.

Best and worst in one breath, Alphamachine Minigraf 3 (underpinner), a fantastic machine but I should have gone up to a higher capacity machine.
Santa has been asked for a CMC.

I need all my equipment, but the one thing I could not do without is my hot/cold 44 x 66 press. The worst investment by far I have ever made is joining FYA.
