Hi -

My present employer is downscaling and has offered me "first dibs" on a number of pieces of equipment. What would you guys pay for this stuff?
-Phaedra double mitre (DeWalt) system 3 yrs. very good condition
-Fletcher 3100 3 yrs old very good condition
-Fletcher 2000 good condition w/stops, etc.
-Morso 20 yrs.? good condition w/ 3 sets blades

Thanks in advance-

The "weak link" in this foursome is the F-2000 as it is now two models old, replaced by the F-2100 and then the F-2200.

All the other three are going to hold their value and a decent offer should be 70-80% of new purchase price, IMHO.

Even the 20+ year old Morso will sell for more than it was purchased. :D

John

I'm with John. If there is even 1/2 their life still in the Morso blades, the Morso alone is worth $1,200-$1,500. And when you retire, it will sell for about $1,800.

I'm not such a snob about the 2000, I still have no use for "production stops" and all the fru-fru stuff.
Wall cutter is worth a good $400-$500 so I would say a round up of the two Fletchers at $1,000-$1,200 is a fair deal. You can amortize them for the next 10 years, at a $100/yr..... :D

As to the Phadra...... IMHO it's a boat anchor.... but then I like to be able to hear the tiny little triangle at the back of the orchestra when the Boston Symphany is playing Mendelsons 12th and there is that little stop and the triangle..... you catch my drift?

If I remember correctly, the equipment can be written off under SEC179 the first year - no need to amortize graemlins/smileyshot22.gif

check with the CPA though! graemlins/smileyshot22.gif graemlins/smileyshot22.gif
