I'm looking for one good all around moulding supplier... a place that has nice wood moulding and also carries Nielsen metals and maybe some other lines. The obvious choice would be Larson, but I'm starting out home-based, so they're out for now... I was kicking around Decor, but I'm not sold on them. Does anyone else have any ideas? I would most likely start out buying primarily chop, for shipping reasons, and would like a nice mid-range company... not super cheap, but not way high either.

Louisiana Moulding is what I would recommend.......but the shipping might kill you

Decor sounds good for what you want. They aren't my main supplier because they don't deliver in my area but we buy a fair amount of moulding from them. I think if it's over $50 or $75 the shipping is free.

There's also Don Mar, but I like Decor's mouldings better. Another one I thought of is Marquis Art and Frame in Wilkes Barre.

Doesn't LeWinter deliver in your area?

Decor or Don Mar would be my advice. Don usually has better prices on mats and glass....
Good Luck

If I had to choose one company, other than Larson, I think I would go with AMPF. Free shipping on chops over $65.00, next day delivery (I'm pretty sure you are close enough), and problems are taken care of immediately. They have a wide selection, and even some of their high-end golds can be bought chop. No metals, though, but you can get metals almost anywhere.

One problem I've had with Don Mar is getting corner samples. I ordered a bunch for the new shop I'm helping to open, and we are still 100 samples short three month after the initial order.

Actually Pam, My AMPF rep told me they chop metal now.

And, don't they deliver supplies out of NJ?

That may be a much better suggestion!

I like AMPF a lot.

Also, I have boxes of Don Mar samples in my back room. If you're looking for some let me know ;)

Framinzfun -
Wasn't able to contact you directly since you didn't have an e-mail address listed in your profile. I rep in Penna. for a couple of moulding suppliers (one that was mentioned in the replies).
Please contact me off-list if you wish additional information.
Thanks.

We use Furst Brothers quite a lot as they deliver in our area. Furst is located in Baltimore, MD and is a good mid-range and good quality manufacturer. Our rep's name is Criss and he's great. The gallery is closed today but if you email me at owner@longwoodartgallery.com I can give you the phone number, etc. We also use Larson, AMPF, Roma, and a couple others.

You could also try Turner out of Ashburn, VA. They have a strong line, some cheap stuff, but mostly above average to good stuff. If you wish give them a call 703.478.0780 or 1.800.336.3775 I think they run a truck up your way.
Good Luck
