I have decided to adopt the idea of writing thank you notes to my customers and today is the day to start. My problem? The first 2 notes will be going to a brother and his sister, (different households), their mom recently passed away and the one framed all the newspaper articles, (she ran a popular restaurant) and the other framed a pic he had drawn in high school of his mom, the actual picture he used as a model and the words he spoke at her funeral.
I totally stink at this sort of thing so do you think it is appropriate to end the note with,
We look forward to doing business with you in the future and again thank you for choosing Reflections Gallery, we appreciate your business.
Or would you word it some other way? I'm not totally thrilled with it.
Thanks for your input.

" I hope in some small way, I was able to help you remember and cherish your mother "
Speaking from someone who has exclusive business from both funeral homes in town.

I would omit the part about doing business in the future and just say thank you for choosing... and we appreciate your business.

Always thank them first, then ask for their future business but don’t call it business.
e.g.
“Thank you for choosing Reflections Gallery. We hope we can continue to serve you in the future.”
(and run a spel cheker before you send anything out!!!!) smile.gif

Thanks so much gentlemen! I appreciate your help on this one. I got them all written, spell checked and then handwritten and addressed today. Of course I got nothing else accomplished but it feels good to have them done, for today anyway!
Roger, I see you are in Hawaii, I was supposed to be in Hawaii yesterday for my 25th wedding anniversary. Then the lack of money reared it's ugly head and we ended up watching season 3 of the show 24 on DVD instead. Not quite the same thing I am afraid. Tell me I missed nothing but rain and erupting volcanos please.
Thanks again!
Julie

I've sent thank you notes for years, using a generic one I bought from Abbott Cards. Last year, as part of my branding efforts, I had my own cards printed. The front has my logo and name. The inside has a printed message and "Top 100 Art and Frame Retailer". I left space to write a personal note; but I also had some cards printed with no message on the inside. I use those for just the situation you mention. I send a sympathy note rather than a thank you note; and I also use the blank ones to send congratulations when I read good news about a customer in the newspaper or hear they have health problems. Also send to prospective clients I meet at a local leads group.
