Wondering how my price for the following job compares to yours:

59.5" X 18.75" Shadowbox. Moulding was $14.50 per foot. Black suede top mat, Crescent yellow rag second mat, black suede background and mounting board. 5, 9X11.5 windows in the two mats. (10 total windows) Mylar mounted 5 magazines. (considered collectible) TruVue conservation glass (wasn't very heavy because it was only 18.75" tall) Black suede on 1/8"foam core to line the sides. 1/8 " acid free filler board. Reinforced back with 2 aluminum bars to make sure bottom of moulding wouldn't sag away from top (although no sign of this upon completion). Large Wall Buddies to hang. Thanks!

For comparison's to be somewhat valid, all the components need to be included. In this case, you did a pretty adequate job, except that you did not identify the moulding....name, profile or number would be very useful. Otherwise the length or chop cost per foot, rather than the retail will also work.

Having your base retail price on the moulding does other's little good, and could impact 30-40% of the pricing that you have suggested. If you can add this information, perhaps you'll get some good data.....

Good Point. Moulding was CMI shadowbox 2171, $3.50/ft for length. I charged $688.45. Won't use this moulding again. Not completely happy with the quality.

"...ah, but I was so much higher then; I'm cheaper than that now." $14.50ft then and

now it's $3.50/ft

$628.94 assuming the glass was not RC. $664.68 if it was.

I came up with $606.13. I am sure that I am missing something in those charges. I did add a $75.00 for layout. I certainly don't think your price is out of line. There is going to be a lot work involved.
