I am in need of 10' of an out-of-stock LaMarche moulding, style #90320. This has been out of stock since early March and now is not expected until August  . Anybody have any??
Thanks,
-Mike.

Hobbes,
Sorry I can't help you.
But, since the request is out there, I have some of my own to add.
76010 (distressed walnut) for 20 ft
4357 ant mahaogony compo w/gray 5 ft
77401 Compo Green for 10 ft
90370 Green Banboo for 12 ft
and, to cap it off,
90320 for 30 ft
Indeed, as your philosophy says, "Life is nasty brutish and short."
And mldg, of late, it appears is, discontinued, short and out of stock.
Good luck on finding what you need.
I still have hopes.
Slim and dim, but hopes none the less.

Less has had serious stock problems with LaMarche too. They tried to make him happy with all of the free samples he wants.
Less is not sure this was a smart decision on his part if he can't get the mouldings when he needs them. If fact, it's been a long time since he ordered his samples. Maybe they are discontinued or out of stock - Haaaaa!
How long can LaMarche keep this up without going bye-bye?

Every time I called to check on the status of this moulding, it seems they added a month to the estimated arrival time. Maybe I should not have called so often. I'm sorry.

Less, could you modify your third person references? It sounds like Bob on "Becker."

MerpsMom,
If YOU were Less, would you want to admit that you were you, too?
Sorry - about the syntax, not the sentiment. It's 6 a.m. here.

-Mike. Sometimes the boats are slow from China.

I gave up on LaMarche quite awhile ago for just this reason!! Way too often, the moulding I was calling for was out of stock and was a 6 month wait for it to be back in stock. Plus, I was having problems with quality control on what actually did get to me. I finally took their corners off the wall and told the rep to check back with me in 3 years or so and then only when they get their **** together.
Remember folks, they need us WAY more than we need them. There are dozens of framing companies out there waiting to put their frames in your store. If a company is constantly having these sorts of problems then it is time to consider having someone else on your wall. As more frame shops remove a particular company from their wall the company hopefully will notice a drop in sales and work to remedy the problem. If not then they go out of business. As an aside to this, The problem with finding the moulding to match another job... just tell the customer the truth. The company is having too many problems and aren't reliable any more and aren't up to your standards for your shop. That the company is out of stock for up to 6 months and that that is completely unacceptable and no longer a reliable company to work with. I find customers are quite accepting of situations such as this. It isn't your fault that the company is unreliable. Then go about finding a moulding from another company that will complement the one they already have. I have done this and it works. Life is too short to have to deal with companies like LaMarche. Whew!! All done.

Well......maybe I've just been lucky but I haven't had any problem with La Marche. Is it the West Coast Distribution? I don't know. I have had one back order in the last two years. That's nothing to complain about. Years ago (in the 70s) I not only had to deal with lot's of backorders but I also had a lot more waste in the moulding I received from all of the moulding companies.
I also had to order large quantities of moulding to keep in stock. I often ordered 3 to 6 months ahead and had to take a chance on what moulding I could sell. Now I can keep hundreds of samples and, in most cases, get the moulding I need in 2 - 4 days! That's quite a change in the way of doing business from the old days. I now keep a few thousand feet of moulding in stock instead of ten or fifteen times that. My turnover is now much better that it ever could have been in the old days. I much prefer the "just in time" system we are using now. smile.gif

Ok,
Now that the urgent part has been posted.
So yesterday I was sitting around waiting for my LaMarche delivery.
At the point when I finally figured out it was not comming, I decided to call them and ask why it did not get here when it was suppozed to.
Of course they are not open 'till 5.
And the general mailbox was saying to leave a massage, but not taking it.
I got a hold of the Rep. Gave him the issues.
Yes, the delivery was still a day late, but he managed to fill all of my "back order" or "out of stock" items.
Three he found by having someone actually take a look. And two had just came in that day.
