I'm looking for a frame that someone bought at Micheals. It looks like bamboo with a black insert between two pieces of bamboo. It isn't a Larson Juhl frame we checked with them. There is a number on the back that was put there by the store. Not sure if it means anything but it is 2745 18348. Any ideas who might carry this moulding? graemlins/shrug.gif

2745-18348 is the store#-order#. The item number is (739-7055). It's an imported item by Michaels.

I was told by my rep the other day that Larson lost their account with Micheals 4 years ago and that Micheals has started importing thier own moulding. So they don't need a middle man.
You will probably only be able to get that moulding from Micheals.
Sorry,

On the plus side, you should be able to get at least 50% off list price and still make a few bucks on it. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

If they follow Ben Franklin's lead, you could have them make the frame for free too!

That's what my rep is telling. He said Larson was not happy about it. That it was a real loss for the company. I'll bet it was.

While I am not speaking about Michael's ,BF ,or even JoAnns' My LJ rep told me that he refused a deal similar to Michaels and had the same results. By this I mean he was offered exclusivity from a local mega chain if he gave them special priceing cuts and he refused on the basis that it probaly would cost him a large portion of his small shop trade if not all of it when the M+P shops couldn't compete.
So he refused and they gave the same deal to a Zinsel/AMPF and he lost all their sales.Which figures he didn't quote exactly but he didn't hide the fact that his comissions suffered drastically.
That is what I was illudeing to when he said he wanted "CUSTOMER LOYALTY". He ddidn't mean exclusivity but the fact that he considered what the Small shops might think and took the loss while the other supplier took the deal anyway and they still cut his sales with the small shops who continue to trade with the exclusive BB trader. If he isn't going to gain ANYTHING he might as well make the BUCKS.
I'm not telling you who to support but I appreciate when even a rep considers how a deal will Affect my ability to compete. And i think most of us dislike when those deals are made at our expense.

A. Wise,
I’m not being sarcastic, but why not just go to Michael's and order the frame? From what I’ve seen they make lousy cuts and joins, so why not just ask if they would be willing to sell you a chop about 1/2” larger than you need, so you can miter and join it yourself.
All they can do is say, “no!”. If they do, you can at least tell your customer that you gave it your best shot. If they don’t, you’ve got a happy camper on the other side of your design counter.
BTW: the home page link in your profile doesn’t go anywhere.

the home page link in your profile doesn’t go anywhere. That's because it's not a URL.
People that registered on The Grumble more than a year-or-so ago had the choice of putting their business name OR the URL of their website in the profile. Unfortunately, if you chose to put in a business name, TG (which wasn't as smart as it is now) turned it into a bogus URL and added a dead-end link to it above every post.
For a while (a really short while) I was on a vendetta to get people to clean up their profiles and fix this problem. The only one I really confronted with it was Sherry Lee, so I'll think I'll go see if I need to harass her some more.
Thanks for the reminder.

I am pleased to report that Sherry has fixed her profile. That only leaves about 1,200 more to go.
Can anyone tell I have the day off?
